Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive campus safety plans that address potential risks and threats
- Collaborate with school administrators, faculty, and staff to promote a culture of safety and security within the school community
- Establish and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination during emergency situations
- Provide regular safety and security updates to the school administration and Board of Education
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including lockdown and evacuation procedures
- Conduct regular safety inspections of school facilities and grounds
- Develop and conduct training programs for school staff on safety and security procedures, crisis response, and emergency preparedness
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in school safety and security, and incorporate this knowledge into your work
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as law enforcement, criminology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a school setting
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety and security plans
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to school safety and security
