Director of Elementary Schools
The Director of Elementary Schools works closely with the Executive Director of Elementary Education and other district leaders to provide instructional leadership, guidance, and support to Elementary school administrators. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that school operations align with district policies and goals, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, and promoting a safe and effective learning environment for students and staff.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Elementary school principals, ensuring alignment with district goals, policies, and safety protocols.
• Assist in principal evaluations and professional growth planning.
• Foster positive relationships with parents, community members, and external stakeholders to enhance support for school initiatives and programs.
• Represent the district at meetings, conferences, and community events, advocating for student success and district initiatives.
• Collaborate with district leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures that support effective school operations, discipline management, and student safety.
• Serve as the District's Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) Compliance Officer, leading investigations and ensuring a safe environment for all students.
• Act as a liaison between the district and families, addressing concerns related to student success and promoting collaboration between the school district and community.
• Support the integration of technology in the classroom, assisting staff in adapting their instruction and utilizing technology effectively.
This position reports to the Executive Director of Elementary Education.
Requirements:
• Valid Washington State Administrative Credential (WSPC).
• Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Curriculum, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of successful educational administrative experience, including experience as a building principal.
• Central office experience preferred.
• Strong academic preparation in instructional leadership, administration, and supervision.
• Ability to develop and monitor budgets and manage fiscal resources.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in educational leadership.
• Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury, or neglect of a minor.
