Responsibilities:
Lead a team of employees in the effective planning and implementation of store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing, and support.
Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies.
Provide training for employees, conduct performance evaluations, and communicate performance expectations regularly.
Evaluate operating statements to identify business trends, expense control opportunities, and potential shrink.
Order merchandise to meet or exceed in-stock targets, review ordering plans, and follow up on inventory management issues.
Facilitate efficient staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise.
Maintain accurate inventory levels, control damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
Ensure financial integrity of the store through cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to cash control procedures.
Maintain a clean, well-organized store and ensure adequate equipment is available to perform tasks.
Familiarity with retail principles, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices.
Requirements:
One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
Bilingual Spanish speakers may be given preference at certain store locations.
Work Environment:
Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, regular driving to make bank deposits and attend meetings.
