Senior Real Estate Counsel

Full-time position in our team of over 34,000 members, supporting our clubs and communities from our center in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Job Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and draft commercial real estate documents, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, REAs, and more.
- Provide legal guidance to internal clients regarding lease provisions, operational issues, violations, signage, construction issues, access agreements, landlord/tenant disputes, and repair and maintenance issues.
- Analyze title and surveys to identify potential environmental risks and liabilities.
- Assist in managing real estate-related litigation.
- Update the Company's real estate documents and forms.
- Collaborate with local land use counsel as needed on zoning, permitting, incentives, and similar matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and law degree from a top college or university.
- Familiarity with reciprocal easement agreements, development agreements, joint ventures, condominiums, bankruptcy, condemnation, sale leasebacks, assignments, and environmental matters.
- 8-10 years' experience at a top law firm and/or in-house environment.
- Flexible and willing to adapt to new situations.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects without supervision.
- Experience in construction law and familiarity with construction contracts preferred.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA, and Monday and Friday are remote days.
