The Division Merchandise Manager (DMM) is responsible for developing and implementing merchandising strategies for a specific division, aligning with the company's goals of maximizing sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Vice President of Merchandising, the DMM manages product assortment, vendor relationships, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives to drive growth and competitive positioning within the division.
Merchandising Strategy Development:
Develop and execute a comprehensive merchandising strategy that aligns with the company's sales goals and brand identity, ensuring product assortments meet customer needs and seasonal trends.
- Product Selection and Assortment Planning: Oversee product selection and assortment planning for the division, balancing trends with core product offerings. Ensure optimal product mix, inventory levels, and space allocation.
- Pricing and Promotion: Set pricing strategies that align with financial goals, analyzing sales data and market trends to adjust pricing and promotional activities to stay competitive and drive sales.
- Sales and Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze sales, margin, and inventory performance for assigned categories, identifying opportunities and making data-driven decisions to improve overall performance.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Partner with inventory, marketing, and store operations teams to ensure product availability, successful launches, and alignment on promotional campaigns.
- Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory planning teams to manage stock levels, reduce out-of-stocks, and ensure optimal product availability across locations.
- Mentor and guide junior merchandising staff, providing clear objectives and development opportunities to build a high-performing team.
Requirements:
8 years of experience in merchandising, retail management, or buying, with a proven track record of driving sales and profitability in a multi-store or multi-category retail environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
