Physician-Scientists for Parkinson's Disease and Neurodegenerative Disorders
The Department of Neurology at Stony Brook University seeks physician-scientists with basic and translational research interests to join a multidisciplinary team studying Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Successful candidates will lead a robust research program, serve as mentors, and have experience conducting bench, clinical, or translational research. They must have a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and securing extramural funding.
Applicants with clinical training in adult or child neurology will provide clinical coverage and contribute to the educational mission by mentoring research trainees and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D., Ph.D. degree, research experience, board certification in neurology, and licensure in New York. Strong communication and leadership skills are also essential.
Preferred qualifications include success competing for extramural funding and managing a basic research laboratory or leading clinical trials.
