Parent Support Partner
Join our team at North Country Community Mental Health, serving six counties in Northern Michigan.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Parent Support Partner to work with families of children with Severe Emotional Disturbance and/or Intellectual Developmental Disabilities.
- Provide peer-delivered support to parents
- Facilitate access to services and assist with systems navigation
- Teach parenting skills to manage day-to-day challenges
The ideal candidate will have experience working with families and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position (28 hours) with a starting wage range of $19.04-$19.99 per hour.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED
- One year experience working with the target population preferred
- Ability to facilitate group dialog and conversation
- Basic computer skills required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, lift up to 25 pounds
- Stretch/reach, hear, see, hand/finger dexterity and drive a vehicle
Other Requirements:
- Must obtain and maintain MDHHS Parent Support Partner certification
- Current in Adult CPR and First Aid
- Complete initial training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
