We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Psychiatrist to join Ramapo Ridge. The Psychiatrist will provide professional time to the Ramapo Ridge inpatient unit maintaining the quality of care in a professional manner to all patients assigned to him/her. Functions as Psychiatrist and provides needed therapeutic intervention as appropriate to patient's needs. The Psychiatrist will need to be competent to care for patients in the following age groups: adolescent (ages 14 - 18), adult (ages 19 - 64) and geriatric (ages 65 ). Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.

Responsibilities:

• Communicates with the treatment team regarding patient care.
• Follows policies and procedures of the hospital.
• The individual is competent to care for patients in the following age groups: child/adolescent (ages 14 - 18), adult (ages 19 - 64), geriatric (ages 65 ).
• Provides commitment certificates as requested.
• Follows the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Bylaws of the medical staff of the hospital.
• Provides patient care services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the governing body.
• Prepares/updates treatment plan/individualized care on a timely basis.
• Serves as attending Psychiatrist for assigned patients.
• Performs psychiatric (mental status) evaluation.
• Provides leadership to professional and clinical staff.
• Attends commitment hearings as required.
• Monitors/reassess psychiatric status of patients.
• Performs admission history.
• Chairs treatment team meetings for those patients assigned to his/her care on admission and weekly.
• Performs timely charting and documentation of all care provided, in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
• Screens and admits patients to hospital.
• Provides Psychotherapy to assigned patients as needed.
• Attends Medical staff meetings as required.
• Provides coverage as assigned.
• Serves as on call Psychiatrist for the hospital, at night and on weekends as assigned.
• Provides supervision to clinical staff as assigned/is necessary.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a Medical School approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association and successful completion of Residency Training in General Psychiatry.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.
