Job Title: RN Assistant Director of Nursing
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to serve as our RN Assistant Director of Nursing. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and support our nursing staff in providing the highest quality care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and provide personal nursing care to residents, ensuring that their needs are met and their dignity is respected.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive and supportive work environment that encourages collaboration and open communication among team members.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department.
- Manage resources effectively, allocating staff and supplies to meet the needs of residents and the department.
- Make daily unit rounds to evaluate resident care and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all nursing staff are knowledgeable about resident rights and responsibilities.
- Participate in emergency situations involving residents, using sound judgment and critical thinking skills to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care, including medical treatments and progress notes.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, adhering to established safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, empowering them to make informed decisions and take ownership of their practice.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve resident care and department operations.
Requirements:
- A current license as an RN in the state where the center is located.
- A minimum of 5 years prior RN nursing supervisory experience, preferably in a long-term care center.
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and supervisory ability.
- The willingness to work harmoniously with team members in all positions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and other stakeholders.
