The Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy & Nonprofit Studies and the Women's Philanthropy Board are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our efforts in development, philanthropy, and nonprofit management.
About the Role
We are looking for a talented individual to serve as the executive leader of the Cary Center and the Women's Philanthropy Board. The successful candidate will have responsibility and oversight for the fiscal, human resources, external relations, public relations, fundraising/grantsmanship, educational, research, and programmatic functions.
The executive director will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, alumni, foundations, and other key stakeholders in partnership with the College of Human Sciences advancement team. This includes developing and fostering partnerships internal and external to the college while actively engaging these constituencies in the initiatives of the Cary Center and the Women's Philanthropy Board.
Key responsibilities include teaching credit and non-credit bearing philanthropy & nonprofit courses, ensuring the execution of the College's three-fold mission of instruction, research, and outreach through innovative partnerships with business, industry, and government, and providing service learning and/or experiential learning experiences to Human Science students.
The role requires limited travel and meetings on and off campus during regular and non-traditional business hours. We are looking for an individual with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in development, philanthropy, nonprofit, and/or financial planning.

- Experience developing and teaching educational and community programming
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) credential desired
