Job Description
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Decision Systems Group, you will play a critical role in advancing the safety and security of the nation through critical contributions to critical challenges.
We are advancing analytic methods and developing integrated software systems empowering informed decision making. Our team is working to advance the forefront of national and health security.
As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance, scalable, and resilient decision support systems. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to understand and translate requirements into deployable solutions.
You will evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for analytic and decision support applications. Additionally, you will develop proof of concept prototypes to explore and validate architectural recommendations and new technologies.
Another crucial aspect of this role is providing technical leadership on project teams from a systems perspective. You will conduct architectural reviews and broader risk assessments for existing and developing systems.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other technical field. You must have 5 years of experience managing teams and projects developing technical enterprise solutions for business process improvement.
Apart from that, you should have knowledge of data and/or microservices architectures. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are essential for this role. You must also be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
