Head of Sustainability

We are partnering with a leading Construction & Regeneration Main Contractor to hire a Head of Sustainability, who will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy, enhancing business performance and creating a strong social purpose.

You will work closely with the ESG Director, managing a team of professionals to integrate sustainability initiatives across HR, Social Impact, Marketing, and internal and external Operations. This is an opportunity to deliver innovative programs contributing to environmental safeguarding, contractual performance, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Drive Strategy: Lead Axis CLC's Sustainability strategy, aligning with Net Zero by 2050 and Carbon Neutral by 2030 targets, ensuring alignment with evolving environmental legislation, company goals, and client KPIs.
• Enhance Sustainability Engagement: Lead the carbon collection process, building Axis and CLC's carbon footprint, improving granularity, and utilizing data to encourage decarbonization efforts.
• Financial Accountability:
• Budget Management: Oversee financial planning and resource allocation for sustainable initiatives.
• Client Collaboration: Work with existing and potential clients to tailor sustainability solutions aligning with their business and environmental goals.
• Strategic Leadership: Design and implement long-term sustainability impact strategies aligning with business goals.
• Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with government bodies, industry associations, and clients.
• Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, funding applications, and financial risk in community engagement projects.
• Data & Impact Analysis: Interpret and present complex sustainability and carbon data across various systems.
