Main Responsibilities
The Vice President of University Communications and Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications and marketing programs that promote CMU's academic programs and enhance its reputation among external and internal constituents. This includes:
• Overseeing and managing our campus' full-service communications and marketing team.
• Developing evidence-based strategic communications and marketing programs focused on enhancing CMU's visibility and name, and highlighting its accomplishments locally, nationally, and internationally.
• Managing our branding strategy, associated marketing, and communications efforts, including social media platforms.
• Enhancing the university's reputation and increasing the visibility and understanding of its mission, vision, and academic programs among external and internal constituents.
• Leading a diverse department, including directors who provide community and marketing support for our colleges and other operating units.
• Developing planning documents within the guidelines of the university and ensuring that the material developed by the department is accurate, ethical, and meets the marketing and communication goals of the university.
