Job Overview
This position is responsible for leading and collaborating with the healthcare team to create a high-quality practice setting that supports professional nursing and patient care.
The Wound Care Nurse will oversee the Acute Care, the Post-Acute Care Wound Care Program, and provide support to the Advanced Wound Care Clinic as needed.
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing services.
- Ensure effective delivery of patient care by planning, organizing, and directing nursing activities.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes for assigned units.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the operation of assigned patient care unit(s), service(s), staff, and facilities.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate process improvement projects/processes to continually monitor and improve patient care.
- Facilitate professional development and clinical growth of nursing staff through implementation and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate in Nursing.
- Acknowledged proficiency in nursing.
- Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting preferably.
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) certification preferable.
