If you are a certified Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician and have 5 years of experience in animal care, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive healthcare services to small animals, primarily dogs, under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
- Conduct regular health assessments, administer medication, and perform minor surgical procedures.
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various animal diseases and injuries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Educate pet owners on preventive healthcare and general animal welfare.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the latest advancements in animal healthcare.
- A minimum of 1 years of experience in animal care, preferably in an animal hospital or animal clinic setting.
- Certified as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician.
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience with small animals, particularly dogs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of animal health and diseases.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex medical information to pet owners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care.
- Must be comfortable with handling various types of animals and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
