Responsibilities
As a Consulting Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will be responsible for
- Assisting in the assessment and evaluation of patient’s condition and needs.
- Implementing treatment plans and goals as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Assisting patients in performing therapeutic activities and exercises.
- Monitoring and documenting patients' progress and updating treatment plans as necessary.
- Educating patients and their families about treatment plans and strategies.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient care.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
- Ensuring all equipment and supplies are maintained and used safely and effectively.
- Participating in continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following
- An Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current and valid COTA certification.
- A minimum of 1 years of experience working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Excellent knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to empathize with and motivate patients.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and handle a high volume of cases.
- A strong commitment to patient care and a passion for helping others.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Current CPR certification.
