We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the Scientific industry. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in our financial management team. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our company, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. You will also be responsible for the direct supervision of all accounting and financial staff, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Responsibilities
As our Permanent Controller, your primary responsibilities will include
- Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
- Coordinating all audit activities and managing relationships with external auditors.
- Consistently analyzing financial data and presenting financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, clearly communicating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Collaborating with financial management regarding the collection efficiency and accuracy of financial data.
- Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, and ensuring that the financial system is aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Overseeing the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations.
- Managing the production of the annual budget and forecasts, and reporting significant budget differences to management.
- Providing leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, keen analytical insight, and a passion for precision to our team. Required qualifications include
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
- Experience in the manufacturing or similar industry
- Expertise in revenue recognition and percentage of completion
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate a high performing team.
- NetSuite ERP experience a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across functions and levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to prioritize effectively, and to meet deadlines.
