We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Technician to join our innovative manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace technology and contribute to the development of advanced space systems. The successful candidate will possess a solid background in aerospace, assembly, mechanical, and manufacturing, with a keen understanding of AS9100, IPC, and NASA standards. The role requires a meticulous technician who can interpret blueprints and ensure the highest quality of work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Location Goleta, CA
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and repair aerospace systems and components following detailed instructions, blueprints, and guidelines.
- Perform mechanical assembly operations including bonding, staking, torqueing, and wire routing.
- Conduct inspections of assembly and installation operations to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices.
- Document assembly and test procedures to ensure production activities are traceable and retrievable.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot issues and improve assembly processes.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, IPC, and NASA standards in all activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and lean manufacturing processes.
- Assist in training other technicians and provide guidance as needed.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Aerospace Technician or a similar role in the manufacturing industry (Candidates with an Auto Mechanic background and certifications will also be considered).
- Demonstrated knowledge of aerospace systems and components.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with AS9100, IPC, and NASA standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
