We are a national organization with current growth as we continue to expand. The Payroll Specialist will be running our bi-weekly payroll (hourly and salaried). This is a temporary indefinite opportunity. Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.

We are seeking an experienced Consulting Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing and providing expert advice on payroll-related matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in garnishments, benefits, HRIS, bi-weekly payroll processing, time entry, and a proficient user of Microsoft Office. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals and contribute to the financial health and success of our company.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete payroll process for our organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all payroll activities.
• Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
• Process garnishments, benefits, and other payroll deductions in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Prepare and distribute bi-weekly payroll reports to management.
• Oversee time entry system, ensuring accurate recording of employee work hours.
• Work collaboratively with the HR team to resolve payroll and benefit-related issues.
• Provide expert advice on payroll-related matters to management and staff.
• Stay updated with the latest changes in payroll laws and regulations.
• Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll.
• Use Microsoft Office tools to create reports, presentations, and other documents related to payroll.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll specialist role, preferably in the construction industry.
• Extensive knowledge of garnishments, benefits, HRIS, and payroll processing.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong understanding of federal and state payroll regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
