We are seeking a Consulting Special Education Teacher in the Healthcare industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert consulting services to healthcare professionals, students, and families to improve the educational outcomes for individuals with special needs. This role requires a deep understanding of special education, strong communication skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare professionals, educators, and families on the educational needs and strategies for individuals with disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with healthcare teams and educators.
- Advocate for the educational rights of individuals with disabilities within the healthcare setting.
- Conduct assessments to identify educational needs and develop effective intervention strategies.
- Provide training and support to healthcare professionals and educators on best practices in special education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integration of educational services in healthcare plans.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions and modify strategies as needed.
- Stay abreast of current research and trends in special education and healthcare to provide the most effective services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in special education, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective IEPs.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in special education and healthcare.
- Experience with various assistive technologies and intervention strategies for individuals with disabilities.
