Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Provide internal and external auditing services for the business.
- Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Prepare and review journal entries to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements.
- Develop and implement financial strategies and plans for the organization.
- Provide consultancy on strategic financial decisions and risk management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and ensure the organization is in compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve financial efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with specific experience in the nonprofit sector.
- Proven experience with journal entries, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and standards.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and consultancy skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial advice.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
