Calling all Staff Accountants with 3 years experience! We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Staff Accountant to join our vibrant team. This position plays a pivotal role in our team, providing in-depth financial insights that drive the productivity and public accounting support for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Payroll and Income Tax Preparation, Financial Statements Preparation, and other related financial bookkeeping transactions. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the public accounting industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents.
- Perform Payroll Tax Preparation duties, ensuring compliance with current financial regulations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements and reports to ensure all calculations and data entries are correct.
- Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
- Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
- Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
- Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements.
- Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in a similar role within the public accounting industry.
- Proficiency in Payroll Tax Preparation and Financial Statements Preparation.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
- Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, organize work, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- CPA certification or eligibility is a plus!
