Job Title AP Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AP Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable (AP) function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures. In addition to AP duties, this role will also involve month-end close activities, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Management Handle the end-to-end AP process, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and resolving discrepancies. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and expense reports.
Month-End Close Assist in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations related to AP transactions. Collaborate with other teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
General Ledger Reconciliations Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis. Investigate and resolve any variances or discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.
Vendor Management Maintain vendor master data, including setup, maintenance, and vendor communications. Monitor vendor accounts and address inquiries or issues in a timely manner.
Process Improvement Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the AP function. Implement best practices to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
