We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for the role of Assistant Director of Nursing in our esteemed healthcare organization. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our patients and their families, through the provision of high-quality healthcare services. This role is integral to the leadership and management of our nursing team, and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

As the Assistant Director of Nursing, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to

• Assisting the Director of Nursing in the overall management and leadership of the nursing department.
• Ensuring the provision of the highest standards of patient care and nursing services in line with the latest evidence-based practices.
• Supervising, mentoring, and evaluating nursing staff to ensure continuous professional development and adherence to the organization's standards and policies.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans for patients.
• Participating in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new nursing staff.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote patient safety and satisfaction.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards of nursing practice.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of nursing services.
• Liaising with patients and their families to address concerns and complaints, and to ensure the provision of compassionate and patient-centered care.
• Assisting in the management of resources, including budgeting and procurement of supplies and equipment.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Director of Nursing role should have the following qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing. A Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Experience in geriatrics and skilled nursing facility is a must.
• Current and valid nursing licensure in the state of practice.
• Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and professional standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of patients, families, and staff.
• Proficiency in the use of electronic health records and other healthcare IT systems.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
