We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in the insurance industry. As a leading firm in the field, we specialize in Insurance Defense, PIP (Personal Injury Protection), and First Party Property cases. This is a permanent position that offers excellent growth opportunities. Candidates should have experience taking depositions, attending hearings and mediations, and reporting to and evaluating cases for clients. Civil trial experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on insurance defense cases, PIP claims, and first-party property disputes.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court proceedings.
- Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
- Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
- Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial testimony.
- Attend and participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Manage a caseload and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case files and documentation.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in insurance defense
- Strong knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
- Experience with drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
