Responsibilities
As a Associate Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include
- Providing expert legal counsel to clients on matters relating to trust, estate, and elder law.
- Drafting, reviewing, and executing a variety of legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
- Representing clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations as required.
- Conducting comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and provide accurate advice to clients.
- Managing estate administration processes, including probate and non-probate transfers.
- Advising clients on guardianship matters and representing them in related court proceedings.
- Collaborating with other attorneys in the firm to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach to client service.
- Keeping abreast of changes in legislation and case law that may impact the firm's clients.
To be considered for the Associate Attorney position, the candidate must possess the following qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in trust, estate, and elder law.
- Proven experience in estate administration, trusts, estates, guardianship, surrogate, and wills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal solutions.
- Excellent research skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex legal principles.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Ability to manage a high caseload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
