We are looking for a Billing Specialist for a great client in Irvine, CA. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of billing, from creating invoices to resolving client inquiries. Responsibilities
As a Billing Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include
- Overseeing and streamlining billing and collections processes.
- Creating and sending out invoices, following up on unpaid bills, and resolving complex billing issues.
- Working closely with the project management team to understand project budgeting, job costing, and labor/materials allocation.
- Coordinating with A/R to ensure that all bills are paid in a timely manner.
- Performing account reconciliation, preparing and recording journal entries, and assisting with month-end close processes.
- Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Generating financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
- Ensuring compliance with established internal and external accounting standards and regulations.
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering or construction industry.
- Knowledge of A/R, entries, construction, job costing, labor, materials, and industrial services.
- Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of billing and financial concepts.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
