About the Role:
We are a non-profit organization based in Millersville, MD, working to support our community. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team and contribute their exceptional bookkeeping skills and financial acumen.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, including fixed payments and variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgets. They will also ensure our company's financial health and oversee all aspects of our bookkeeping.
This is a contract position with the potential for full-time employment. As a member of our team, you can expect:

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all company accounts and investments
- Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing
- Conduct month-end close procedures and account reconciliations
- Maintain organized and updated billing files
- Utilize QuickBooks and Sage Intacct for efficient financial management and operations
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Develop and implement efficient and secure procedures for handling financial data and transactions
- Collaborate with team members to prepare budgets and financial forecasts
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper in a similar role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and other financial management software
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations
- Exceptional knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining general ledgers
- Experience in performing account reconciliations and month-end close procedures
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office tools
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to identify numerical errors
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field preferred
