Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, your core responsibilities will include
- Assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, which may involve preparing patients for examination, recording vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Performing basic laboratory tests and sample collections, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Administering medications and treatments as directed by the physician.
- Maintaining accurate patient records, including medical history, vital statistics, and test results.
- Scheduling patient appointments, managing patient flow, and ensuring that examinations and procedures are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
- Providing patients with information and education regarding their treatments, procedures, and medical conditions.
- Adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.
To be considered for the Medical Assistant role, you will need
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within the medical field.
- Proficiency in measuring and recording vital signs.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
- The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- A valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
