A Commercial Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects from planning to completion. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and quality standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to determine project needs and set performance goals
- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with various trades and stakeholders
- Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks
- Resolve on-site issues and emergencies promptly and effectively
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs and progress reports
- Ensure projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations
- Coordinate with local authorities for necessary permits and inspections
- Extensive experience in k-12, higher ed and healthcare projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project)
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, safety protocols, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
