Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret complex commercial contracts related to the construction industry.
- Provide expert legal advice on contractual and commercial issues.
- Manage customer disputes, collections, liens, and contract disputes, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our company.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and best practice, ensuring that our business activities comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement effective legal compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to other team members on contractual and legal issues.
- Work closely with other departments, providing legal advice and support as needed.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, if required.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel.
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Contracts and Commercial Lawyer, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing customer disputes, collections, liens, and contract disputes.
- Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial law.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
- Admission to the state bar where the company is located.
- Proven track record of providing accurate and effective legal counsel.
