We are on the hunt for an experienced, dynamic, and results-oriented Permanent Director of Accounting to join our fast-paced and growing organization. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing our entire accounting department, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, coordinating budget planning, and maintaining company accounting procedures and processes. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with other senior leadership to strategize and achieve company financial goals. Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts, report variances, and prepare for regular financial audits.
- Review and approve all financial statements and ledgers, and work with auditors to ensure accurate, timely completion of the annual audit.
- Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth.
- Work closely with the CFO to strategize on major financial decisions and planning.
- Streamline accounting functions and operations to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies.
- Manage and supervise the accounting department team, providing coaching, guidance, and support, setting professional development goals to assist with their career growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level accounting or financial management role.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with accounting software, corporate governance practices and procedures, and detailed knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven business decisions.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to colleagues with different professional backgrounds.
- Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
