Job Details
Responsibilities
- Oversee all operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Supervise and manage all general ledger activity, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Liaise with our CFO and executive team on all matters concerning financial management, budgeting, and internal controls.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is required.
- Masters in Accounting or related field.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and various accounting software.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
