Job Details:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-driven Permanent Cost Accountant to join our team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to make a significant impact within our manufacturing organization. You will be instrumental in managing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for spotting trends and making recommendations. This role will be critical in helping our organization maintain financial order and accuracy, making it an exciting opportunity for those looking to make a significant impact.
Responsibilities:
As our Permanent Cost Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Preparing and analyzing cost reports and costing audits.
2. Working with all departments and the management team to develop annual budgets and cost projections.
3. Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
4. Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
5. Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
6. Conducting physical inventories and monitoring the cycle count program.
7. Reviewing rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggesting policy changes to improve numbers.
8. Providing management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
9. Assisting in audits and general ledger preparation.
10. Conducting cost analysis on financial programs and operations.
11. Establishing cost monitoring systems and procedures and related cost accounting activities.
12. Preparing detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, and liability accounts.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the role of Permanent Cost Accountant, the candidate must possess the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
4. Must have experience with Sage or similar accounting software.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
6. Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial information in an understandable way.
8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
9. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
