We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about financial analysis, data analysis, and process improvement. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our company's financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting functions. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, SAP, and CPA.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Cost Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include

• Performing regular financial and data analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Preparing and posting accurate journal entries in line with the company’s general ledger.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including GAAP and SOX.
• Utilizing SAP software for various accounting tasks and reporting requirements.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the company’s financial operations.
• Collaborating with other departments to gather information for budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Reviewing and reconciling inventory and cost of goods sold accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring they comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Participating in internal and external audits, providing necessary information and responding to auditor requests.
• Continually updating knowledge of industry trends and advancements to ensure the company maintains its competitive edge.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Cost Accountant position will possess the following qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in financial and data analysis, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and other relevant financial regulations.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data analysis.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven track record of process improvement and the ability to drive efficiency in financial operations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
