Job Details

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost standards for materials and labor.
• Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and as-needed, that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Analyze production costs and recommend changes.
• Work closely with the production team to understand and manage raw material and labor costs.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts and perform cycle counts.
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
• Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
• Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses.
• Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories.
• Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.
• Analyze capital budgeting requests.
• Perform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. A Master's degree or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
• Proficiency in accounting software, databases, and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proven knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work well with a team and collaborate with various departments.
