This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee and manage our payroll and benefits department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, benefits administration, and staff supervision. They will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of our multi-state, bi-weekly payroll, while also managing our comprehensive benefits program.
Responsibilities
As the Director of Payroll & Benefits, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities that are integral to the smooth operation of our company. These include
- Overseeing the preparation, processing, and distribution of multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for our employees.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Administering and managing the company's benefits program, including health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
- Supervising and mentoring payroll staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Handling payroll tax, benefits, and garnishment issues, ensuring accurate reporting and record-keeping.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as HR and Accounting, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Keeping abreast of latest payroll and benefits trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Handling any payroll and benefits-related queries or issues from employees.
- Preparing and presenting reports on payroll and benefits to senior management.
The ideal candidate for the role of Director of Payroll & Benefits will have the following qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in the construction industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Proven experience with multi-state, bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Experience in administering and managing a comprehensive benefits program.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
