Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to serve as the Director of Payroll & Benefits. This role oversees and manages our payroll and benefits department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of multi-state, bi-weekly payroll and comprehensive benefits program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation, processing, and distribution of multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for employees
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Administer and manage company's benefits program, including health, retirement, and other employee benefits
- Supervise and mentor payroll staff, fostering positive and productive work environment
- Handle payroll tax, benefits, and garnishment issues, ensuring accurate reporting and record-keeping
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Stay up-to-date on latest payroll and benefits trends, regulations, and best practices
- Address payroll and benefits-related queries or issues from employees
- Prepare and present reports on payroll and benefits to senior management
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in construction industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Proven experience with multi-state, bi-weekly payroll processing
- Experience in supervising and mentoring staff
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
