Job Details
Duties:
- Installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relay equipment, powerline carrier equipment, digital fault recorders (DFRs), remote terminal units (RTUs), and communication processors
- Functional testing for protection and control circuitry associated with transmission lines, HV bus, transformer, circuit breaker, feeder, reactors, and capacitor banks
- RTU and telecom upgrades for various clients
- Experience with SEL microprocessor relays such as 311C, 311L, 387, 411L, 421, 487B, 487E, 487V, 587, 587Z, and 787
- Desired experience with GE microprocessor relays such as C30, D60, F35, L90, T35, and T60
- Required experience with various RTUs and communication processors such as GE, Telvent, SEL, Cooper, and Novatech
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technology in a similar discipline, or Technical school diploma, or military experience in either Army Prime Power or Navy Nuclear electrical program
- Ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in the electrical testing industry with a focus on working with protection and control equipment, RTUs, and telecom with HV utility, co-op, power generation, federal, or municipal clients
- Experience with transmission and distribution relays including SEL, GE, ABB, and Westinghouse
- Experience with substation RTUs, communication processors, and telecom equipment for both brownfield and greenfield projects
- Experience with scoping, scheduling, and budgeting processes for protection and control, RTU, and telecom projects for both internal and external entities
