We’re looking for a Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in the Madison area—someone who can turn drawings and specs into smart, accurate bids that help win work and drive success.
In this role, you'll work closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, contractors, and owners to review scope, evaluate options, and price change orders. You’ll be the go-to person for building precise estimates and supporting the preconstruction process from start to finish.

Responsibilities
- Break down bid packages and study plans, specs, and related documents to prepare accurate time, material, labor, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate bid submissions with internal team members (PMs, coordinators, etc.) to ensure complete and timely delivery.
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to request and analyze quotes, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Evaluate labor rates, materials, equipment costs, and timeframes to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Maintain and organize estimating files and tracking tools to ensure everything is accounted for from kickoff to closeout.
Preferred Requirements
- Background in the electrical trade or construction field (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with estimating tools or related software (Accubid experience is a plus).
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, code compliance (NEC, NFPA, IBC), and best practices in commercial installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and organization.
- Clear communicator—both written and verbal—with a team-first attitude.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and estimating software.
