Job Details

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on cost and project estimation. This individual will play a crucial role in our engineering projects, providing accurate cost estimates that will drive our budgeting and financial planning processes. This is a permanent, full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting and challenging projects, with the potential for professional growth and career advancement.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Estimator, your key responsibilities will include

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical engineering projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
• Utilizing software tools such as Conest, Intellibid, and Accubid to generate accurate and reliable cost estimates.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather all necessary data for cost estimation.
• Applying NECA MLU rates to ensure accurate labor cost estimation.
• Reviewing project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and areas of risk.
• Participating in project bid meetings and presenting cost estimates to stakeholders.
• Regularly reviewing and updating cost estimation processes and methodologies to ensure continuous improvement.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and changes in electrical codes and standards that may impact cost estimation.
  
  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need

• A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical cost and project estimation.
• Proficiency in using cost estimation software such as Conest, Intellibid, and Accubid.
• Familiarity with NECA MLU rates and their application in labor cost estimation.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
