You will be working closely with various departments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. This role requires a high degree of technical knowledge in areas such as calibration, EHS policies, and wastewater treatment.
Responsibilities
As an Environmental Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include
- Implementing and maintaining environmental management systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Conducting regular environmental audits and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, including EHS policies.
- Overseeing wastewater treatment processes, ensuring they meet all necessary regulations and standards.
- Providing technical guidance on environmental issues to various departments within the company.
- Leading environmental training programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of environmental regulations and responsibilities.
- Managing calibration of equipment and systems to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
- Responding to environmental incidents, coordinating investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborating with management to develop strategies for reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability.
To be successful in this role, you will need
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, EHS or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management in the manufacturing industry.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
- Proven experience with wastewater treatment and disposal and calibration of control instrumentation. .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in using environmental monitoring and data analysis tools.
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
