We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Estimator to join our dynamic team. You will be playing a crucial role in our construction projects, providing accurate estimates for heavy civil, underground utilities, excavation, and earthworks. You will be playing a crucial role in our construction projects, providing accurate estimates for heavy civil, underground utilities, excavation, and earthworks. Responsibilities
As a Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for the following
- Develop comprehensive, detailed project capital cost estimates for heavy civil, underground utilities, excavation, and earthworks projects.
- Review and interpret civil design drawings and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Present prepared estimates for approval by client or senior management.
To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil Estimator in the construction industry.
- Proven experience in estimating heavy civil, underground utilities, excavation, and earthworks projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Proficient in relevant software including CAD and estimation software.
- Superior communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
