We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly skilled Chief Construction Estimator to join our progressive team. This is a permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity to lead and manage the estimation process in the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring that budgets, scopes, and RFIs are effectively managed to meet project objectives. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in estimation and project management.

Responsibilities

As our Chief Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
• Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project requirements.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to obtain competitive quotations.
• Responding to RFIs and coordinating with project teams to resolve any discrepancies or clarifications.
• Managing and overseeing the work of junior estimators, providing guidance and mentoring as needed.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects to develop project scopes and schedules.
• Monitoring and tracking project costs to ensure budgets are maintained and adjusted as necessary.
• Conducting risk analysis and identifying potential cost overruns or delays.
• Presenting estimates and project budgets to senior management and clients.
• Staying updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.
  
  

Qualifications

To be considered for this pivotal role, you should possess the following qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
• Proficient in estimation software and project management tools.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and build relationships.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional certification in construction estimation is a plus.
