About the Role:
In this full-time, permanent position, you will oversee all aspects of our financial statement audit process, managing and supervising junior audit staff. You will work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, while also reviewing and updating our organization's audit procedures and policies as needed.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee planning, execution, and completion of financial statement audits for our non-profit organization. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
2. Prepare and present audit findings to senior management and the board of directors.
3. Supervise and mentor junior audit staff.
4. Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
5. Review and update our organization's audit procedures and policies as needed.
6. Assist in preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns.
7. Provide technical accounting advice to staff and management on complex transactions.
8. Lead and participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in audit management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
2. Proven experience in non-profit financial statement audit preparation.
3. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is highly preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. A high level of integrity and professionalism.
