Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as the Health Services Administrator at our correctional facility. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of healthcare delivery within the prison system, ensuring high-quality care for inmates while adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all healthcare services within the correctional facility
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for healthcare delivery
• Oversee medical staff, including nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards
• Manage healthcare budget and resources efficiently
• Coordinate with security personnel to maintain a safe environment for both staff and inmates
• Implement and maintain electronic health records systems
• Develop and oversee health education and preventive care programs for inmates
• Liaise with external healthcare providers and community organizations as needed
• Handle complex medical cases and make decisions regarding inmate care and treatment
• Conduct regular quality assurance reviews and implement improvements as necessary
  
  

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or administrative role
• Experience in correctional healthcare strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment
• Proficiency in healthcare information systems and electronic health records
