We are looking for an experienced Electrical Test Technician to join our team as a High Voltage Testing Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and executing tests on high-voltage equipment and manufactured parts. You will also be required to use a variety of test equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, watt-meters, ohmmeters, bridges, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers. Additionally, you will need to prepare and execute testing of instrument transformers, such as ratio errors, losses, resistances, impedance, and high-voltage testing.
**Responsibilities:**
- Support the testing of new and existing high-voltage products
- Set up and execute tests on high-voltage equipment and manufactured parts
- Use a variety of test equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, watt-meters, ohmmeters, bridges, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers
- Prepare and execute testing of instrument transformers, such as ratio errors, losses, resistances, impedance, and high-voltage testing
- Maintain calibration of test equipment used in the lab
- Submit certified test report drafts to engineering
**Requirements:**
- Minimum of 2 years experience in electrical testing in heavy industries or utilities or equivalent education and/or experience
- Broad experience as gained through electrician or service technician work for electrical equipment
- Experience using inspection tools, test instruments, and other required equipment
- Computer skills for entering and retrieving data (MS Office suite)
- Able to work from ground level to working in, on top of, and around the sides of the unit which may be 6 feet or more in height
The salary for this position is estimated to be between $75,000-$95,000 per year depending on experience.
