This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a team of brilliant engineers and scientists to develop, maintain, and optimize our HPC systems. The ideal candidate must have a Security certification and a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
As an HPC Systems Engineering Lead, you will
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of HPC systems to meet the company's computational requirements.
- Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the HPC systems that support core organizational functions.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize HPC systems and software for improved performance and resource utilization.
- Develop and implement strategies for HPC data management, backup, disaster recovery, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their computational needs and provide solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in HPC technologies and apply this knowledge to improve our systems.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to the HPC systems engineering team.
- Ensure the security of our HPC systems by implementing robust security measures and maintaining the Security certification standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need
- Active Department of Energy (DoE) Q Clearance or have held one in the past 3 years.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or relevant experience. A master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in HPC systems engineering, with a focus on Linux systems.
- Proven experience with parallel computing, HPC clusters, job schedulers, and related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
- A Security certification with a deep understanding of security principles and how they apply to HPC environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex HPC issues.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team of engineers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong desire to learn and stay updated with the latest HPC technologies.
