Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, reliability, and optimization of automation systems.
- Design, develop, and test PLC, SCADA, and HMI control systems.
- Troubleshoot and enhance automation processes for efficiency and compliance.
- Lead cross-functional projects and manage external contractors.
- Train staff on system best practices and ensure adherence to FDA/GMP standards.
- Share 24/7 on-call support responsibilities with the automation team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Process Control, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5 years of hands-on automation programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience in biotech, pharma, or FDA-regulated manufacturing preferred.
- Expertise in GE iFIX SCADA, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, OSIsoft PI, or BMS systems.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills in automation systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC, purified water, steam, and chilled water systems is a plus.
- EIT or PE certification highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Maximo, Blue Mountain RAM, or similar CMMS.
- Strong understanding of bioreactors, mixers, and centrifugal pumps in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
