We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team in the engineering industry. This is a permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, while also being responsible for the preparation and coordination of our financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
• Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Secure financial information by completing database backups.
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
• Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
• Generate financial reports and statements for review by management.
• Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
• Handle expense reporting and manage Concur software.
• Set up new vendors in the system and maintain existing ones.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field.
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (preferably Concur).
• Excellent numerical skills with an attention to detail.
• Time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with month-end processes and expense reporting is crucial.
• Experience in vendor set up and management is required.
• Knowledge of the engineering industry would be an added advantage.
